The challenge of this project was to fabricate the sign from aluminum while providing the depth and dimension that the customer wanted. The custom oval cabinet is fabricated aluminum with the central portion of the face recessed to hold digitally printed vinyl graphics. The letters and stars along the outer edge were cut from 1/8-inch aluminum plate and stud mounted 1/4-inch off the sign face. |
The aluminum banner is mounted to the cabinet surface, while its ends are rolled pieces of flat aluminum that are stud mounted to the wall to make the banner look like it wraps around the sign. Custom airbrushed shading was used to help provide the illusion of depth. |
