Valley City Sign seeks to hire a full-time CNC Router Operator to join our manufacturing team. The CNC Router Operator will operate and maintain our CNC routers to produce various sign components accurately and efficiently. A successful candidate will have 2-3 years of experience using three-axis CNC routers. We place a premium on a good attitude and willingness to learn. We will mentor and train the right person.
 
WHAT DO WE DO?
As a premier west Michigan-based sign company, we build all types of signs! We use aluminum, steel, plastics, paints, and all substrates to create our products. Our customers include banks, car washes, municipalities, large corporations, hospitals, schools and universities, casinos, sports teams, and many local businesses. 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Operate CNC routers to produce various sign components according to design specifications 

• Read and understand drawings

• Knowledgeable and skilled with specialized computer software

• Knowledge of specific material used in routing

• Understanding of metal machining (speed, feeds, lubrication, cooling, etc.)

• Monitor and inspect completed parts to ensure they meet quality standards 

• Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC routers to ensure peak performance

• Work with team members to ensure on-time completion of projects 

• Maintain a safe and organized work environment

• Follow all safety procedures and regulations

• Accurately records, store, and report inventory usage

• Maintain an archive of computer files for routing

 
REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent 

• 2+ years of experience operating CNC routers preferred

• Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations

• Active Listening 

• Good communicator 

• Attention to detail

• Strong organizational skills

• Knowledge of hand tools 

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings 

• Excellent problem-solving skills 

• Ability to work independently and in a team
