Valley City Sign seeks to hire a full-time Laser/Engraver Programmer/Operator to join our manufacturing team. The individual will set up computer files for programming as well as operate and maintain our Trotec laser and Vision router to produce various sign components (primarily ADA room identification panels) accurately and efficiently. 
 
WHAT DO WE DO?
As a premier west Michigan-based sign company, we build all types of signs! We use aluminum, steel, plastics, paints, and all substrates to create our products. Our customers include banks, car washes, municipalities, large corporations, hospitals, schools and universities, casinos, sports teams, and many local businesses. 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Operate laser and router machines to produce various sign components according to design specifications 

• Work with materials such as aluminum, acrylic, tactile sheets, braille beads, and more

• Read and understand drawings

• Knowledgeable and skilled with Trotec and Vision computer software

• Assemble tactile copy on routed panels and add VHB tape to backs of panels if necessary

• Monitor and inspect completed materials to ensure they meet quality standards 

• Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting on laser and router to ensure peak performance

• Work with team members to ensure on-time completion of projects 

• Maintain a safe and organized work environment

• Follow all safety procedures and regulations

• Accurately records, store, and report inventory usage

• Maintain an archive of computer files

 
REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent 

• 2+ years of experience operating laser and/or router machines preferred

• Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations

• Active Listening 

• Good communicator 

• Attention to detail

• Strong organizational skills

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings 

• Excellent problem-solving skills 

• Ability to work independently and in a team
