Valley City Sign, a premier sign company located in Comstock Park, Michigan, has a job opening for a Plant Manager. We are looking for a candidate who is self-motivated, possesses good trouble-shooting skills and is a team player. This position reports to the President.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Maintaining a safe working environment in the shop and on job sites

- Managing a team of 20+ employees

- Managing personnel, quality, production and inventory control

- Managing work flows and recommending/implementing measures to continually improve production methods and quality standards

- Ability to lead people and get results from others

- Hiring, training, developing employees; administering disciplinary action when necessary

- Overseeing all shop functions (router, fabrication, welding, body shop, paint, copy, assembly, wiring, shipping/receiving)

- Verify production schedules are met

- Overseeing installation functions

- Maintaining facilities and equipment

REQUIREMENTS:

Prerequisites include 3-5 years experience managing employees in a custom manufacturing environment. Mechanical and construction expertise is necessary. Experience in the sign industry is a plus. Must have good computer skills, excellent interpersonal and multi-tasking skills and creative problem solving and reasoning skills.
