Valley City Sign seeks a motivated and passionate Fabricator to join our team and help us build custom signs for our customers. This 1st shift (days) position is a wonderful opportunity to build world-class signage products with an industry leader. If you are new to welding and fabrication, no worries; we offer an excellent learning opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the fabrication and welding industry. Our fabricators and welders work on projects for premier West Michigan-based companies.

WHAT DO WE DO?
As a premier west Michigan-based sign company, we build all types of Signs! We use aluminum, steel, plastics, paints, and all substrates to create our products. Our customers include banks, car washes, municipalities, large corporations, hospitals, schools and universities, casinos, sports teams, and many local businesses.

Job Type: Full Time​

Work Location: In person

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Work with a team to fabricate custom signs

• Mig weld aluminum and steel into shapes

• Shearing and braking aluminum and steel

• Weld flat stock, extrusions, and pipe and tube

• Rolling and laying out materials based on drawings and specifications

• Follow safety protocols and adhere to company policies

• Measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials accurately

• Operate welding machinery and tools according to safety guidelines

• Inspect finished products to ensure quality and accuracy

• Willing to perform other jobs as needed (You will cross train into other areas)

• 6:00am - 2:30pm with overtime as needed

REQUIREMENTS:

• Attention to detail

• A desire to be a great fabricator

• Basic knowledge of fabrication and welding

• Carpentry experience a plus

• Comfortable working with a variety of tools and machinery

• Good problem-solving skills

• Basic math and measuring skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Able to read a tape measure​

• Metal fabrication (not just welding but able to build): 5 years (Required)
