Production Scheduler

Job Details:

  • Responsible for reviewing all jobs turned in for accuracy and completeness before releasing to shop.

  • Identify labor routings, apply estimates to labor routings and enter in sophisticated scheduling software.

  • Create new labor routings by doing necessary research on new processes.

  • Learn technical details related to how signs are manufactured.

  • Read and understand shop drawings.

  • Update and maintain repetitive stock code database.

  • Organize and forward shop packets to coincide with production schedule.

  • Plan and conduct Packet Review meetings.

  • Identify, confront and correct procedure errors within the order process.

  • Data input estimated hours into database for performance analysis.

  • Responsible for identifying, organizing and preparing documents for billing.

  • Reconcile and balance the open orders among the different software systems.

  • Look up paint formulas for the shop.

  • Back up the Production Control Manager as needed.

  • Other duties may be assigned. 

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three to five years related experience and/or training.

  • Specific computer skills and understanding of quotes, estimates and drawings are essential.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
