Valley City Sign, one of West Michigan's leading manufacturers of custom, commercial and architectural signs, is looking for a Production Scheduler. Job Details:

• Responsible for reviewing all orders for accuracy and completeness before releasing for production.

• Identify labor routings, apply estimates, and enter orders in scheduling software.

• Organize and forward shop packets to coincide with production requirements.

• Plan and conduct Packet Review meetings.

• Identify and correct procedure errors within the order process.

• Enter estimated hours into our database for performance analysis.

• Responsible for identifying, organizing and preparing documents for billing.

• Create new labor routings by doing necessary research on new processes.

• Learn technical details related to how signs are manufactured.

• Read and understand shop drawings.

• Update and maintain the repetitive stock code database.

• Back up the Production Control Manager as needed.

• Other duties may be assigned.

 

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and three to five years related experience and/or training; or a college degree in a related field.

• Intermediate to advanced computer skills; Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and/or APS experience preferred.

• Understanding of quotes, estimates and drawings are essential.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

• Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees.

• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
