Spray Painter

We are now hiring to fill a Full Time Spray Painter in our Finish Department.  We are an Employee Owned and an Equal Opportunity employer looking for the right individual that will embrace our core values and team managed environment.



Job Details:

  • Read and understand drawings

  • Identify readiness of sign for painting

  • Apply paint using spraying process by following specifications on drawings

  • Mix paint according to Matthews Acrylic Polyurethane (or similar) formulas

  • Organize and maintain inventory of paint and paint related materials

  • Maintain equipment and paint room

  • Follow OSHA requirements and guidelines related to exposure, explosives, MSDS and disposal of paint solvents

  • Inspect and correct finished sign for quality

  • Operate air spray guns (pressure feed and siphon) and proper use or protective safety equipment.

  • Operate paint thinner recycling system in proper manner.

  • Follow the schedule provided.


Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • 3-5 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.

  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

  • Accurately read a tape measure.

  • Job requires long periods of standing, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.

  • Be able to climb ladders and lift/move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.

  • Must have color vision

  • Reliable transportation and punctuality a must.

  • Willing to work in a fast-paced and ever changing environment.

  • Able to work well with others to meet deadlines.

  • Willing to cross-train into other areas as opportunities arise.

  • Full time schedule is Monday – Friday, 6am – 2:30pm

  • Overtime required as needed and possible Saturdays

  • $11 to $15.00/hour to start depending on experience
